San Francisco.
It is ages since we went to San Francisco. The longest journey we have ever taken. But worth it.
No wonder people sing about it. Ace it was. I would certainly go back at the drop of a hat.
We stayed in a Raddisson Hotel. (I believe they have those hotels all over the world.) We stopped at Fisherman's Wharf. Pier 39.
Yes, we went to Alcatraz, got a tee shirt, book and lighters from there. Ate at the Stinking Rose, lovely despite the name. (All things garlic.) Went over the Bridge on open topped bus.
Saw the Painted Ladies. (I didn't understand that at the time.) Could have really embarrassed myself there. Well, I didn't know they were houses did I???
Yes, like the Mammas and Papas, I am yet again, California Dreaming. lol

More or less.
Yesterday my niece and I jumped on a bus then a train and went to Silverdale, Lancashire.
Not really far from here. It is years and years since I last went there. All I could remember was the Fairy Steps. We didn't see them though.
It was a nice day and the tide was in.
I quite liked the sound of this place. Lovely name.
Pepperpot. The Cove.

San Francisco.
I would love to visit SFO again. It seems a long time ago now. But I have my memories and my photos. Sister and me talk about it often.
Tha socks I bought for himdownstairs are still unworn. I suppose some men at 60+ don't fancy walking around in with socks with Alcatraz written on them. Not that many people would see them. lol Maybe I should sell 'em on Ebay.
I remember fondly "The Stinking Rose." All things garlic. Mmm. I still have a tiny strawberry / garlic flavoured boiled sweet. I ate the other one I got. Nice. Just didn't dare try the ice cream though. Bet it was good.
We were supposed to go to Banff the year after but never did. Time yet and even maybe April /May. We will see.
Yes, it will be two years ago in June. Wonderful place. Fishermans Wharf, seals, sun, mist and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Morecambe, Lancashire.
Morecambe, the home town of, Eric, shrimps, sea and sand. Pretty place, not far from Blackpool, the Lake District and Scotland. I would think it would be a good base for a holiday.
Nearby too, is the Historic City of Lancaster. Lancaster Castle is a prison and also has tours for visitors in summer.
There is Heysham a good walk away. Heysham Village, pretty little place, nettle beer, ancient ruin of St. Patrick's Church. The Church overlooks the sea. Peaceful.
Further on, through Middleton and Overton, there is Sunderland Point. This little place is cut off by the tide, twice a day.
