Anyway, I am not any better sewing anything on it as I was the day I got it! I have some material I bought last year to make a skirt........It is still in the bag I got it in. I can't find anywhere that can teach me to sew. I am not a natural machinist, so really need help. There are lessons to be found locally in patchworking, but I had grand ideas of skirts, tops and maybe a simple dress.

I am on day 11 of not smoking today. Thought I would just fling that in! I just love being modest.

My sister is in France, the warm part and it's raining. My heart bleeds. lol Seriously, she hasn't been well since she flew back after our crisis. She says she feels better now though but a bit washed out.

Worked the late shift yesterday. And maybe, at a push, another shift on Sunday. Don't know yet. Going to a concert on Saturday. Wot a thrilling life I lead. Please don't be jealous.

See yer. X

I bought some material and my sewing machine still hasn't been cut out. It was to be a simple skirt for summer.

My poor sewing machine. I had such high hopes for it. I badly need lessons. Himdownstairs keeps getting at the little piles of my attempted sewing. He finds it amusing. Huh.

I knew a lady, she went to sewing lessons and turned out all sorts, jackets and coats! Amazing. It takes me three hours to thread the thing. Must get my eyes retested. Well overdue.

Got the blues. I think that nursing is my forte. Sewing is not. The machine is ok. The material is ok, so that just leaves me! Thought I would give the skirt a rest for today. So started on a top. Three pieces, sounds simple doesn't it? Well, maybe for you. I now have a front and two bits of the back cut out.

BUT!!!!

I have cut out the two bits of the back alike. Stupid or what? I think, no, I am sure, I will have to go to the College of Knowledge and take lessons.

Later, I shall go back to the skirt. The zipper and I are NOT getting on at all well.

Work tomorrow and Saturday, will have a rest then! Before that, will have to go and see nice lady on Morecambe Market and buy another bit of material for the top. Didn't buy enough to allow for mistakes! Hope she doesn't laugh!

To give me something to do while not working, I have invested in a sewing machine! Now I don't know whether this has been a mistake or not. I am trying to make a skirt. If you could see me, you would laugh. That's if you are experienced on a machine. I am just making this skirt with no knowledge at all.

I have three pieces sewn together. That has taken me a couple of days. Ok, I have had to go to work and that hasn't helped me any. I am now on the waist bit and I am utterly stumped. The skirt requires a zip, now that will be fun. These patterns are beyond me. lol. Not to worry, I mastered a knitting machine, (just.) More or less mastered the computer, so I hope, with a bit of practise, I will master the sewing machine. I don't think I will ever be able to make clothes for a living though.

My niece and I have decided to go to lessons. I think that will be for the best. In fact, I don't just think it will, I know it will. Any hints or help gratefully received. Thanx.
