My 'puter. Lost friends. Where are you??????

I am still happy with my computer. Packard Bell by the way. MP3 player in USB and playing my fave songs. Granddaughter and friend on Windows Live Messenger and Skype. Watching YouTube and things granddaughter sending me. Owe 3 emails to friends, must do them later.

Never had anything like this when I was a lot younger, don't think I could have afforded it either. Well, I know I couldn't. I was talking to my sister in Italy at dinner time, she was on Skype too.

Still haven't had any luck in finding,

Mary Jo in Dallas,
Wally in Canada,
Doreen who came from Scotland.
Dawn and Ricky. England.
Karen and Kevin in Australia.

Cousins, David and Peter. (Mary and Harry parents.)

Anyone with any info, please let me know.

Through this machine....................

Hiya Vic,

Through this machine I got to find out about the man I believe to be my natural / biological father. I also got to ring you and have a little chat. Ok, I did ring 5 am your time but honestly, didn't mean to. I still think you are my half-brother. On the phone you sounded a very nice chap.

I asked if it was ok to write to you, you said yes. So I did then spent days and weeks on tenterhooks awaiting your reply. But it never came. I think I upset your other half-sister, didn't mean to though.

Last year my sister and I went to San Francisco, not far from where you live or lived. I dearly wanted to knock on your door and say hello. But I respected your privacy. Sent you a postcard telling you where we were staying.

Maybe you have moved, maybe you lost my address and phone number. But I think that for some reason, you just don't want to know me. Why? I don't know.

Don't suppose you will ever read this as a few years ago you didn't have a computer.

All the best Vic,

anne. x x x x

Computer again.

The first computer I bought was Windows 95. A basic computer I must say. I wasn't on the Internet for quite a while at first.
So, you have a brand new computer, maybe second hand but as a beginner, it's new to you. You suddenly realise, you really need a printer. It's a must. Then you think, a scanner would be wonderful, so off you go to pick one out. Digital camera? Yes! After all, think of the films you don't have to buy and you can put photos on your screen. Of course, then, you need CDs to save your photos. Paper to print them out on. Cartridges of ink too as, by now, your printer needs them.
Trying to teach yourself all this is hard. Well, it was for me anyway. I remember having a panic when my first computer told me it was shutting down due to an illegal operation. I expected the police calling at our house! I wouldn't mind but I wasn't even on the Net then. But not understanding, it was a bit scary. I have had 3 computers, three printers, (I seem to ruin them.) This computer I have now, I think, is the best one, as is the printer.

Computer Mouse.

I love my computer! It's a Packard Bell. Runs XP. Not had a lot of trouble with it. But these last few days, the mouse seemed to have seized up. I blamed myself. Poor overworked little mouse, I had not long ago, cleaned my desk, so I blamed that!
Tonight, it was getting worse and driving me mad. I opened it up, you know, took the bottom off. Golly, the muck type fluff! I cleaned it off and now the mouse is quicker than me! (That is easy though.) Anything is quicker than me!

I am still on dial up. My boys and my granddaughter say it is so slow.
I see in the papers that the price of Broadband will be coming down, (Wish I could say the same thing about petrol.) So, one day, when they have all dropped their prices, I may arrive, at last, in the 21st century and speed things up.

The only trouble with that, is the people can still ring me up and try to sell me a stairlift, a walk- in bath or ask me if I have had an accident in the last few years. Not only do they want to know if I have had an accident but any family or friends as well.
I know they have a job to do, I try to be polite.
