Retiring????

Since the end of February 2004 I have been talking retiring fully. No bank nursing. It is now near the end of June 2008,
I think that a week on Wednesday I am really going to finish.

I will miss my workmates. I think it is them who have kept me going. (Bless them.) There has been a lot of changes, people moved on and new people starting work on the ward. But there are the few who have been there for years and years like I have.

Our kids have grown older, some married with children of their own. Time goes so quickly.

Nearly 9 months off the cigs, soz, just HAD to stick that in. X

We hear of people being stabbed or shot, we hear about soldiers getting killed in foreign parts, just kids bless them. Whatever age anyway, it is so sad.

Then important documents left on trains.

Then we hear that some "High Ups" are going to do something about it. I want to know when?

All this stuff going on and yet nothing much being done to stop it or is there?
I am an ordinary woman, I live an ordinary life. But things are getting much worse than they were.

Please do something someone. Please.

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. lol I wonder how many people are suspicious? I like to think I'm not. But I think I am not fooling anyone at all.

If I see a magpie I do a little wiggle of my fingers, not a full wave. I mean, people will think I have lost it. Ok, I have but don't want the world and his wife to know. Fingers crossed when I HAVE to walk under a ladder.
I am sure there must be other things I do. Can't remember at the moment. Yes, there is another, salt, not to pass it to someone, place it on the table so they can pick it up. If I spill some, never remember which shoulder to throw it over.

I give up now as I will start to think of loads of them.

Midland Hotel, Morecambe.

I remember standing with my Mum and waiting for someone famous to come out of the Midland Hotel. I think it would be circa 1964-5.
Crowds were waiting so Mum said we should too. lol After a little wait, out came Roger Moore. My Mum quite fancied him. (Is he a Sir now?)
I bet a lot of famous people stayed there.

Anyway we were all a lot younger then, the Midland fell into a right mess.

June the 1st it re opened, it looks great. We had a quick peep inside. The view from the back is lovely and watching the sunset over the Bay will be gorgeous.

It's summer, the weather ain't that bad and I am depressed. Really fed up and I don't know why. There isn't a reason for it really, maybe complete boredom??? I dunno.

It's over 8 months since I had a cig, so it can't be that. Funny but in a way I want one because I am fed up but I know darn well that it won't make me any happier.

So I sit here and bore anyone who may have nothing else to do but read it. lol I maybe should get out and do interesting things. Just cannot be messed. Everything is of a sameness. No point in anything.

When I was younger, however I felt, I knew it would pass, something would be round the corner. But not now.

I am really fed up. The following characters have found their dads and a mum.

Emmerdale...............Gen + Shadrack.
Corrie...................... Gail + Ted.
Eastenders...............Chelsea and her dad.
Holby City ……........Maria, just found her mum. (I think.)

I am not at all jealous, no, not me. lol
I do know they are only soaps and are not real life. (Maybe slightly based on real life as I am sure these things do happen.)

Me………dad located.
He is deceased and his step daughter, now 69 – 70 doesn’t want to know. Her brother who is my half brother doesn’t seem to want to know either. I have spoken to him once, seemed a really nice man.

Good luck Soap Characters, hope you get on better than I did. Also, everyone out there who is looking for their relatives, good luck to you too.

I have a granddaughter who will be seeking her half sister and brother one day.
If she manages it, I wish her all the best.

San Francisco.

It is ages since we went to San Francisco. The longest journey we have ever taken. But worth it.

No wonder people sing about it. Ace it was. I would certainly go back at the drop of a hat.

We stayed in a Raddisson Hotel. (I believe they have those hotels all over the world.) We stopped at Fisherman's Wharf. Pier 39.

Yes, we went to Alcatraz, got a tee shirt, book and lighters from there. Ate at the Stinking Rose, lovely despite the name. (All things garlic.) Went over the Bridge on open topped bus.
Saw the Painted Ladies. (I didn't understand that at the time.) Could have really embarrassed myself there. Well, I didn't know they were houses did I???

Yes, like the Mammas and Papas, I am yet again, California Dreaming. lol

Please, can anyone tell me why I am so fed up???
I have seen in the papers and on TV the earthquakes, tornadoes and other horrible things that are happening. I should be counting my blessings.

So, here I am, fed up, retired so no stress from work. Not too badly off in the money situation. (No begging letters please as not rolling in money either.)
Family ok at the moment.

Perhaps this feeling will pass. I hope so. I don't think it is real depression, boredom maybe. Nothing to look forward to, getting older too.
