The sales!

02f321530e816a750033e100fac34509.gif

I stopped in today. Still not feeling great after my latest cold. But himdownstairs and me are better than we were.

But had I gone out where would I have started? Gone to the stores that sell sofas? Gone to the ones that sell beds? The Computer stores? Some clothes shops? The list is endless.

Now when I was a girl the sales started on the 2nd Jan unless that was on a Sunday. You could window shop and look at things that you might want. The sales were real sales too. You could get real bargains in those days. But now stores seem to have sales most of the time. Spring sales, Easter sales, summer sales, end of season sales.

Nearly 3 months without a ciggy. Hope I manage over the New Year. It would be pure stupidity if I had a cig now but it is surprising how near to pure stupidity I have got.

Take care everyone.

80 days.

Hi there.

I have succeeded in getting to eighty days without a cig. I am still not home and dry though. I thought if I could get this far I would be well over the wanting, needing, craving a cig now. But no.

Please don't let that put you off if you are thinking of stopping smoking. Maybe it will be a New Year's Resolution? Some people find it so easy. The people who are dreading giving up the weed are sometimes the better quitters. Ok, not better but seem to manage it a little bit better. Not as bad as they thought.

Even now, it isn't as bad as it was in the beginning. In fact, although I still fancy a cig, I have never been at the headbanging stage that some people get to. I am afraid, if it had come to that, I would have failed. Or would I?

Yes, I have tried Nicotine Replacement Therapy. All sorts of 'em.

Please have a Happy Christmas.

Special holiday greetings to Fjola, Robert and Victor and families. lol

UPDATE. Where are you??? Old friends.

WANTED!

I have said before, I have lost a few e-mail friends in the past. I would like to get in touch with Okiemamma... Sue, Mary-Jo from Dallas, Doreen in Canada.  Karen and Kevin and their children in Australia. And everyone else I have lost touch with. I used to be,

mrsdanne@btinternet.com  now I am, enanne22@talktalk.net

I live in Lancaster, am a retired nurse. Does that bit of information ring any bells? I do hope so.

Again, I put out a plea for Glenda who used to live in Morecambe and was / is a friend of Sheila. She is somewhere out there in the USA.
I also would just love to get in touch with David and Peter. They are my cousins. David married Nicola and maybe now in Canada. Don't know where Peter is though.
Their parents were Mary and Harry. Remember your holidays in Heysham?

I hope I get some feedback from this Blog. It would be great!

Got to be done!

This Christmas shopping has got to be done. I know, I know. It's only a couple of days to cover, our local Spar shop is open for a few hours too. Bet it won't have any bread or milk. lol

So, off we went to sunny Morecambe. Cold it was too. Had enough time to take pics. Hard to believe that behind those hills / mountains is Scotland. The Lake District first though.

Cigarettes.

It's raining outside. Cold and windy too. Got to go out shopping soon. Ok, don't REALLY have to but need some stuff.

Now what I don't need is a packet of cigs. Now don't get me wrong, I would like a cig. I have fancied one for 10 weeks. Yes, 10 weeks, me, no cigs not even a puff or a drag.

I am not on NRT anymore but I couldn't have got this far without using it. Cold turkey is the best way for brave souls. I ain't brave.

Even the effect of NRT kas long gone from my body and the cigs are just in my mind just how can I get rid of the thoughts of the stupid things? I am not 100% sure that I will never smoke again. I don't want to. (Non -smokers will find this a bit strange maybe.)

Suppose 45 years, give or take, will have played its part eh?

Have a great weekend. Keep warm and dry in this part of the world and keep cool in the hot parts!

Blooming Heck.

Golly gosh. Time is passing really fast now.

67th day without a cig, still think of them and sometimes could really smoke one. I don't want to though, it would be such a waste. I know from experience that I would maybe enjoy it, (first one anyway,) then I would do my, "What the hell?" bit. Then I would wish I hadn't had that one as by now I would have finished the packet of 10 I got. Then I would have to start all over again. Or worse still, go and buy another packet. Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Soon be Christmas. Soon be the holidays. Depends on what you believe. So soon be Christmas. Shops seem to get busier now. Weekends are very busy and it 's to be expected.

My friend in the USA sent me the link above today. I think you may enjoy it. I did. But I am being deprived of nicotine. I am not really such a sad person.

Digital Camera.

6647caad94b196bdbabbe20a33a08467.jpg

I have had about 3 digital cameras. No, sorry, make that 4. The first one was so small, (not in size but pixels and stuff.)

When I have filled my memory card and sometimes, even before, I put all my photos on a cd. I think for the last 3 cameras I have bought another memory card. One I bought in San Francisco, (showing off.)

I took some pics of my boy's wedding. Put them on CD and cannot access them. I can actually see where they have been "burned" on the disc. Luckily, we have heaps of photos from that day.

I am just so relieved that I didn't just rely on my digital camera. I think it was my fault I "lost" the photos.

I still look at cameras in the bumf they send us with the Sunday papers. PCWotsit advertise a good one, 10 optical zoom. Money off too. I suppose I would have to buy more memory and that could cost a small fortune. Dream on. X
